Withings BeamO and NuraLogix Anura MagicMirror Unveiled at CES

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Withings and NuraLogix introduced groundbreaking telehealth diagnostics products designed to enhance remote health monitoring and improve patient care without requiring in-person visits.

Smart home technology has transformed how we live by improving convenience, security, and energy efficiency. However, it hasn’t been able to address one major aspect of healthcare—providing accurate diagnostic information to both homeowners and their physicians. This gap is now being bridged by new innovations from Withings and NuraLogix, which leverage advanced technology to offer remote diagnostic capabilities in real-time.

Telehealth Growth and Benefits

Telehealth services, which allow healthcare providers to diagnose and treat patients remotely, are growing in popularity due to their numerous advantages. According to Telehealth.HHS.gov, telehealth “lets your healthcare provider care for you without an in-person office visit,” primarily through online platforms accessible via smartphones, tablets, or computers.

However, one major limitation of telehealth is the inability to conduct diagnostic tests during virtual appointments. Withings and NuraLogix are addressing this challenge with their new devices.

Withings BeamO: A Comprehensive Health Diagnostic Tool

Withings, a French health technology company, has developed the BeamO, a multi-functional health device designed to provide telehealth users with essential diagnostic measurements. Combining the capabilities of a thermometer, electrocardiogram (ECG), oximeter, and stethoscope, the BeamO allows users to take vital health readings in the comfort of their home.

The BeamO uses a range of sensors, including:

Optical sensor for Photoplethysmography (PPG): Measures blood oxygenation (SpO2) and heart rate.

Electrodes for ECG: Performs a 1-lead electrocardiogram to detect issues like atrial fibrillation (AfiB).

Non-contact temperature sensor: Measures body temperature via the temporal artery with high sensitivity.

Digital stethoscope: Records heart and lung sounds to support accurate evaluations.

These measurements take less than a minute and can detect fever, infections, and cardiovascular issues. The device syncs with the Withings app, allowing users to track their health data over time, receive actionable advice, and share their records with physicians. BeamO is designed to help users stay informed about their health and better manage chronic conditions.

NuraLogix Anura MagicMirror: Revolutionizing Health Monitoring

NuraLogix, a Canadian AI and medical technology company, introduced its Anura MagicMirror—a smart, 21.5-inch tabletop mirror that can perform a variety of health assessments. Using the company’s patented Transdermal Optical Imaging (TOI) technology, the MagicMirror captures facial blood flow patterns through a built-in camera and uses AI to analyze over 100 health parameters.

In just 30 seconds, the Anura MagicMirror can assess physical health vitals such as blood pressure, heart rate, and BMI. It also performs health risk assessments for conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension. Additionally, the device evaluates mental health risks, including anxiety and depression.

NuraLogix’s cloud-based DeepAffex platform processes the captured data and provides actionable insights, making it an ideal solution for use in various industries, including healthcare, wellness, and retail. The Anura MagicMirror is designed to streamline health assessments in a wide range of settings, from doctor’s offices and gyms to corporate wellness programs and retirement homes.

Phil Levy, CTO,  NuraLogix, said, “Our technology uses any video-enabled device to assess general health parameters, and with this mirror product, we are able to deliver these benefits to many different industry sectors. Whether helping organizations optimize staff well-being or easing the clinical intake burden on health professionals, we are paving the way for a world where health vitals are easily monitored to improve global health outcomes.”
