The announcement follows a series of releases by the brand marking a heightened focus on the custom integration space and include the launch of the new Cinema Bar 3.0 at CEDIA Expo 2024 and the release of the AVA-series mini-AVRs from February.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension of lighting fixtures and controls. Through the inclusion of an HDMI input with ARC, the SMZ8 Controller Amplifier delivers audio and video synchronization, allowing users to enjoy perfectly timed audio throughout their home while watching their favorite video content. The component’s built-in DSP capabilities, which include Russound speaker presets and a seven-band graphic EQ, can be used to help integrators tailor the sound of the SMZ8 to any environment.
The SMZ8 also boasts advanced amplification and power supply technology, leveraging the latest advancements to deliver high levels of sound quality and efficiency. Russound rates the SMZ8 Controller Amplifier to deliver 50 watts per channel of power to fill any home space.
Russound boasts the addition of the built-in streamer makes the SMZ8 Controller Amplifier an all-in-one solution. Drawing on continuous feedback and requests from installers Russound continues, the much-requested streamer makes the amplifier ready for any listening needs, and as part of its modern media capabilities, the SMZ8 features support for popular services—including AirPlay and Google Cast—providing access to today’s diverse audio content.
Some of the other features the SMZ8 offers include the ability to expand to 48 zones, and when combined with its networked design, multiple units can be placed wherever wiring allows, providing coverage across home networks. This flexibility, combined with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, provides installers with freedom in system design and placement.
