At CES 2025, EcoFlow, a leader in smart energy solutions, launched its innovative AI-driven Home Energy Management System, Oasis. Designed to automate and simplify energy management, Oasis uses artificial intelligence to offer real-time insights and management of a home’s energy use. The system allows homeowners to interact naturally with an AI assistant to answer and act on complex energy-related queries, such as “How can I maximize my solar energy usage today?”
Energy management is a growing need for smart home systems, but traditional setups can be expensive and challenging to configure. With Oasis, EcoFlow aims to solve these issues by integrating real-time monitoring of solar energy production, energy storage via EcoFlow batteries, and energy consumption from third-party devices connected through the EcoFlow app.
Peter Linghu, EcoFlow’s Director of Product Strategy and Development, explained that Oasis uses predictive analytics and automation to enhance energy efficiency. For example, Oasis can automatically switch to backup power during an outage or charge batteries ahead of an impending storm. While many home battery systems offer similar features, EcoFlow emphasizes that Oasis adds a more advanced software layer, providing a more detailed and comprehensive energy management experience.
A key feature of the Oasis system is the EcoFlow Assistant, an AI-powered chatbot within the EcoFlow app. The Assistant can answer questions such as “How much energy did I use today?” and help set up energy-saving automations. For example, users can ask the system to switch to stored energy instead of grid power during peak pricing periods, or to automatically manage the power supply to home appliances like air conditioning and washing machines based on weather forecasts and energy demand.
Oasis can also proactively offer suggestions to optimize energy use, helping homeowners save money and reduce energy consumption without manual adjustments. For example, it might suggest running appliances during off-peak hours to avoid high energy costs.
One of the challenges of energy management is ensuring that the system can communicate with a wide range of home devices and existing infrastructure. Oasis aims to address this by being more open and compatible with third-party devices, unlike many proprietary systems. Currently, it works with EcoFlow’s portable Delta 3 Plus and River 3 Plus solar generators, as well as the Smart Home Panel 2, which integrates with a home’s electrical panel for circuit-level energy management.
In addition to EcoFlow products, Oasis supports third-party devices such as Ecobee and Nest thermostats, as well as energy-monitoring devices like smart plugs from Shelly and TP-Link. It is also compatible with Matter, a standard for smart home connectivity, enabling integration with energy-efficient appliances, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers.
EcoFlow also teased the upcoming launch of Ocean Pro, a high-capacity, grid-tied solar battery system for whole-home backup in the U.S., which is expected to compete with products like Tesla Powerwall and Anker Solix. The Ocean Pro will bring a higher-capacity solution similar to EcoFlow’s PowerOcean system, currently available in Europe.
With Oasis and its open approach to energy management, EcoFlow is positioning itself as a major player in the smart home energy space, offering consumers a more flexible, cost-effective, and intelligent way to manage their home energy needs.
