Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa, marks 4 years of completion in India. Celebrating this occasion, Amazon announces discounts on Alexa devices. Furthermore, it disclosed insights into how Indian users have interacted with Alexa.
The discounts on Amazon products are stated below :
Amazon Echo smart speakers & smart displays hold a discount of up to 50%, while the Fire TV devices are available at a 43% discount. Alexa-enabled products and other smart home devices from brands like OnePlus, boAt, Wipro, Panasonic, Xiaomi, are also under a 30% discount. Other offers include the Echo Dot – 3rd Gen & New Echo Dot-with clock, Echo Show 8, are under discount of up to 50%. All offers are live on Amazon India, validity lasts until February 16.
Among the shared insights, Amazon revealed that 50% of Alexa users were from the non-Metro cities and the number of Alexa requests has increased by 68% in 2021 since 2020.
Additionally, the following details were also brought to light :
- Alexa catered to over 21.6 lakh songs requests every day, with kids, devotional, and regional songs being in the top 20.
- Listened to 2.6 lakh requests for controlling smart home appliances.
- Answered nearly 1.7 lakh questions every day, ranging from movie dialogs to word meanings to weather reports, and more.
- Indian users greeted Alexa good morning and good night 1,520 times every day.
Moreover, Amazon improved Alexa’s Natural Language Understanding by 27% in 2021, enabling it to understand English, Hindi, Hinglish, and more languages with no errors. Alex also gave users access to Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s life stories, tongue- twisters in his voice, and much more.
