DTS Play-Fi includes the category-leading wireless audio features to TVs which consists of full home audio streaming, multi-room music playback (from music services), app-based headphone streaming with Wi-Fi range, as well as immersive surround sound. The Play-Fi works over standard Wi-Fi and does not require any additional hardware. This allows manufacturers to add advanced wireless capabilities across a range of price points within their portfolios.
Novatek’s latest Smart TV SoC solutions will support DTS Play-Fi.Licensees will allow further leverage of Novatek’s turnkey solutions to build TVs that connect with Play-Fi compatible amplifiers, soundbars, speakers, and subwoofers. Today, Play-Fi is used by over 30 brands and products. The products can be used in conjunction with Play-Fi-enabled TVs to create surround sound in home audio solutions.
