Desert 5 Spot, a vibrant “cosmic Americana” venue known for its dynamic blend of live country bands and DJ performances, has opened a second location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The venue embraces its rustic charm and enhances its live music experience with a cutting-edge, American-made audio system from 1 SOUND.
Inspired by Joshua Tree hideouts and vintage roadside motels, Desert 5 Spot has created a unique atmosphere that pairs its distinctive décor with top-tier sound quality. The venue has partnered with Anthem Productions to integrate a state-of-the-art audio setup that elevates the sonic experience, ensuring impeccable sound for every performance.
The centerpiece of the venue’s sound system is a pair of 1 SOUND Contour CT212 loudspeakers, flown as the main left and right PA for the stage. These 3-way speakers, known for their precise directivity horn design, provide clear, coherent sound even in the most energetic live band settings. Their design minimizes off-axis noise, resulting in cleaner microphone signals and a more focused auditory experience. Complementing the main PA, two smaller Contour CT28s are strategically positioned as delay speakers, with their robust performance adding depth to the sound.
To enhance the low-end impact, the venue is equipped with 1 SOUND’s SUB2112 subwoofers, featuring two 21-inch drivers for deep, powerful sub-bass and a 12-inch driver for punchy, articulate upper bass. Positioned on either side of the stage, these subwoofers deliver impactful and clear sound to the crowd.
For the venue’s entry and VIP table areas, Anthem Productions deployed 1 SOUND’s full-range Cannon C8 loudspeakers, known for their impressive sound pressure levels and compact design. These custom-colored speakers are strategically placed to ensure the venue’s audio reaches every corner with precision and clarity. Powered by Powersoft T604A and T609A amplifiers, the entire system delivers exceptional sonic performance, complementing Desert 5 Spot’s reputation as the ultimate dance and live music destination.
