Schlage Sense Pro Smart Lock Debuts at CES 2025: Unlocks Only When You Intend

At CES 2025, Schlage introduced its latest innovation in smart home technology – the Schlage Sense Pro, a smart lock that promises to unlock your door only when you truly want it to. Unlike traditional smart locks that can sometimes be overly sensitive, unlocking when you don’t need them to, the Sense Pro uses advanced motion sensing to ensure it responds only to purposeful movements.

The Schlage Sense Pro is equipped with the ability to detect the speed, direction, and intent behind your approach. If you approach the door with a sense of purpose—such as heading inside with groceries—the lock will unlock automatically. However, if you’re merely lingering nearby, like watering plants on your porch, the lock will remain secure, preventing unnecessary unlocking.

While the lock doesn’t literally read your mind, it’s able to discern when you’re in a hurry or simply passing by, ensuring you won’t be locked out or interrupted by unnecessary unlocking. This functionality is tied to your mobile device, meaning you’ll need to have it with you for the lock to respond.

In addition to its advanced motion sensing, the Schlage Sense Pro connects directly to Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for a separate hub unit. It can store up to 250 unique access codes and is compatible with Matter-over-Thread, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with other smart home devices. Paired with the updated Schlage Home app, users can easily manage settings such as auto-lock timers and access history, making the Sense Pro a highly customizable and reliable addition to any smart home setup.
