The KNX Executive Board Meeting gathered in Dublin to appoint a new KNX President and Vice President. The KNX Executive Board oversees the strategy, and the commercial and technical priorities for the KNX Association, which covers more than 500 KNX Members and represents the interests of more than 125,000 KNX Partners across 190 countries.
Jean-Christophe Krieger, Chief Product Officer with Schneider Electric Industries S.A., has been appointed President of KNX Association, following the retirement of Franz Kammerl of Siemens AG who was the president for the past 11 last years. Jean-Christophe has been the Schneider Electric representative on the KNX Executive Board for the last 8 years, holding the role of Vice President since February 2021. Klaus Wächter from Siemens Schweiz AG takes on the role of new Vice President. New leadership – a new vision for KNX Jean-Christophe is one of the leading KNX experts in the world, with 17 years of extensive experience and expertise. He will bring to the President role his in-depth knowledge of Energy Management and System Solutions, and wider-ranging international project management and sales experience across multiple segments.
High on Jean-Christophe’s list of priorities is a commitment to rejuvenate the KNX image. He comments: “We want KNX to be synonymous with ‘peace-of-mind’ to end-customers, KNX partners and manufacturers. With buildings representing 37% of CO2 emissions, KNX is constantly reinforcing its energy management capabilities, to complement the already recognized and well-established automation solutions for buildings and homes.” A Vice President with vast standardization experience Klaus Wächter from Siemens Schweiz AG has been an indispensable member of the KNX Executive Board for several years. Klaus brings a lot of experience to the table as the global Standardization Manager at Siemens Smart Infrastructure / Building Products. Klaus comments: “As a Standardization manager, heavily involved with IoT standardization, I am looking forward to helping define the future of KNX technology and KNX IoT in the coming years.”
