Steinway Lyngdorf Releases BWS-110 High-Performance In-Wall Woofer

Steinway Lyngdorf has launched the BWS-110, a high-performance in-wall woofer specifically made for Steinway & Sons speaker installations requiring the most shallow woofer solution. The BWS-110 is the brand’s sixth woofer model in a portfolio ranging from stackable installation woofers to in-room woofers featuring the trademark high-gloss piano lacquer.

BWS-110 stands for Boundary Woofer Shallow, incorporating one 10-inch bass driver and designed as a high-performance in-wall woofer for custom installations that require a shallow woofer solution with the best bass performance. The BWS-110 utilizes a patented high-excursion shallow woofer design, customized for Steinway Lyngdorf and based on an innovative voice-coil/cone geometry and suspension, which allows the highest excursion from the most space-saving construction. A four-layer voice coil, an ultra-rigid dual aluminum cone, a powerful neodymium magnet, and a rigid cast aluminum basket provide impressive bass performance.

The rigid and sealed enclosure perfectly fits 4-inch/10 cm cavity walls, while the extended height provides the large inner cabinet volume required for bass extension. In combination with the 10-inch bass driver, the BWS-110 delivers an outstanding bass performance. It is designed for any media room and home cinema with no space for placing subwoofers in the room. It comes with a paintable, magnetically-held grille to cover the woofer front.

As with every Steinway & Sons loudspeaker, the BWS-110 is part of the company’s Integrated System Approach, ensuring all parts of the system, from the speaker to the woofers to the digital amplifiers and the stereo or surround processors, work perfectly together as one. Steinway Lyngdorf’s incorporated RoomPerfect technology acoustically calibrates the speaker and woofer performance to the room acoustics, while the unique Bass Management achieves the best sound integration between the chosen Steinway & Sons speakers and the BWS-110 woofers. This ensures the best sound experience for every customer, in any room and any speaker layout.

The BSW-110 production will start in October 2024 at Steinway Lyngdorf, Denmark.
